Department of Radiology
The Department of Radiology at the Hospital for Joint Diseases provides complete inpatient and outpatient diagnostic orthopedic radiology services including Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Computed Tomography, Ultrasonography, and Conventional Radiography. A multitude of musculoskeletal interventional procedures including bone biopsy, arthrography, CT and MR arthrography, diagnostic and therapeutic articular and spinal injections are performed by skilled, board certified radiologists. Our neurointerventional specialist also perfoms discography and the highly effective new vertebroplasty procedure for treatment of osteoporotic compression fractures. The faculty includes several internationally known musculoskeletal radiologists with expertise in all aspects of osteo-radiology that are considered among the best in the nation.
Research
There is a dedicated musculo- skeletal imaging research program with a Ph.D. and post- doctoral fellow. Our current focus is on cartilage and intervertebral disc. In addition, a molecular imaging program has been started.

The Radiology Department at
the Hospital for Joint Diseases coordinates both its Residency and Fellowship Programs through NYU Medical Center. There are four combined NYU/HJD clinical fellows per year.
