Physical Medicine Unit

The Physical Medicine Unit (9 South) is a 23-bed inpatient orthopaedic unit which specializes in the care of acute post-operative and rehabilitation patients. Our rehabilitation program is nationally recognized and world-renowned. As a result of the integration of two services on our unit, our nursing staff develops a large variety of skill sets, in order that we may provide high quality compassionate nursing care to the medically complex patient. Staff members are highly encouraged to participate in councils and committees, to attend conferences and workshops, and to pursue nursing specialty certification. Adequate time and support is made available for staff members to work on unit-based projects and research.  Nursing staff are encouraged develop professionally through continuing and higher educational opportunities.
